Read III John 2 Setting the Good Example of Hospitality

Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers. (III John 2 NKJV)

John wrote to Gaius of his prayer for him. This is the best gift to those we loved. It is to pray for them. The request John made on behalf was to prosper. Prayer here is the expression of his earnest desire that Gaius might be well and blessed,

John sends his best wishes to Gaius with this prayer that we can all receive:

First, we may prosper in all aspects of life. It speaks of success and fruitful work. It shows that it is right to wish that our friends may have success in the works of their hands and their plans of life. It is God's desire that we all prosper in every area of our life. Jesus came to give life, life abundantly (John 10:10) He has given us a hope and future for us (Jeremiah 29:11). Prosper in all things, in possession and position. Many of God's greatest heroes recorded in Scripture were men of great wealth, the example of Abraham, Joseph and David.

Second, we may stay in good health of body, mind and emotion. Indeed, we are the temple of the Holy Spirit and with it we worship and serve the Lord. Like one said, a nice bed but insomnia, great food without appetite, wealth without health.

Third that our soul prospers. This comes before all the natural and external blessing. As one live in communion with God, enjoying His pleasure all other areas are blessed.

Prayer: Lord having my focus on You I live in Your riches as You have become poor that I might be made rich, through Your strikes I might be healed and Your rejection on my behalf at the cross that I have access to the Father.
