Synopsis of Part 3 of J-Mentors
In Part 3 of J-Mentors, we learn about Jesus' time in Galilee, where He did His ministry for about 20 months. He worked mainly in a place called Capernaum. We explore some interesting discoveries in that area, including ancient fishing nets used in Jesus' time.
As Jesus went about His ministry, He faced increasing opposition from religious leaders because He challenged their beliefs. We also find out that Jesus' mission was not just for the Jewish people, but for everyone.
During this time, Jesus taught using stories called parables, which helped people understand the Kingdom of God. He also showed that the Kingdom was already present but not fully realized yet.
Jesus had power over evil spirits and was greater than other miracle-workers of His time. He chose and trained twelve special followers called disciples, teaching them not just practical ministry but also how to have a close relationship with God.
The main goal of Jesus' ministry in Galilee was to reveal His true identity. He did this in a place associated with pagan beliefs and immorality. It was here that Jesus began to talk about His upcoming death and resurrection and called His disciples to follow Him, even if it meant sacrifice.
The Galilean Ministry laid the foundation for the rest of Jesus' ministry, but there is still much more to learn and understand.
