BY REVELATION
Read Galatians 1 Paul Apostleship
But I make known to you, brethren, that the gospel which was preached by me is not according to man. For I neither received it from man, nor was I taught it, but it came through the revelation of Jesus Christ. (Galatians 1:11-12 NKJV)
In the early stage of my Christian faith; I wanted so much to learn how to pray, hear from God, be led by the Spirit and all the means to get closer to Him. Little did I realise that these would just develop through the years of simply trusting God, learning how God allows and matures me in conformity to Christ and confirm what I experienced through His word. That's a revelation
Whats the gospel Paul preached? His message was the origin Gospel of Christ as in For I delivered to you first of all that which I also received: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, and that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the Scriptures, (I Corinthians 15:3-4)
It was not based on self-righteousness, humans philosophy centre around self, contentment, conceitedness, congratulatory and self-effort. He then concurred with the other apostles of the revelation he received.
Since the revelation was given him on his way to persecute the saints. He didnt get to meet the other apostles and disciples of Christ. The believers hesitated of receiving him. He thus sought the Lord for instructions and directions in isolation thus it was not from men.
Paul had personal encounter with the Lord. He came to understand it was not the law that he kept could save him but a personal relationship with Christ. His background of self-righteousness in trying to keep the law was legalism and work. He was persecuting the followers of Christ until Christ revealed Himself to him while on his way to Damascus. It was a revelation by grace.
Prayer: Lord I live the revelation of grace and thus hope in You for my salvation. I relate to others through the grace I experience.
