Read Galatians 2 Gospel of Grace

I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me. (Galatians 2:20 NKJV)

Crucifixion - Paul spoke symbolically of his crucifixion with Christ. It is as Jesus was crucified so was, he. Knowing this, that our old man was crucified with Him, that the body of sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves of sin. (Romans 6:6) "And those who are Christ's have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires." (Galatians. 5:24) Five effects took place at the cross for us. They are propitiation, redemption, justification, reconciliation and our restoration. Paul made personal appropriation of the effect of Jesuss death with regard to crucifixion of the flesh, its passion and pride, the law and its penalty.

Conversion - Paul realized that on the cross, a "great exchange" of life occurred. He gave Jesus his old, try-to-be-right-before-God-by-the-law life. Paul saw his self-righteousness avail to nothing. He is now new creation for his old nature is crucified and let Christ lives in him. But God forbid that I should boast except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world. For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision avails anything, but a new creation. (Galatians 6:14-15)

Conduct - Paul's life isn't his own anymore, it belongs to Jesus Christ! Paul doesn't own his own life (that life died); he is simply "managing" the new life Jesus gave him. Paul can only "manage" the new life Jesus gave him by faith. Faith is not simply a topic about which Paul preached from time to time. Nor is it a virtue which he practised occasionally. It is central in all that he does. It is not faith in himself, the law, or earn or deserve before God but in the Son of God,

Compulsion - Paul can confidently give himself to Jesus because of the love Jesus has demonstrated in giving Himself for him. What will keep us persevering is the compulsion of Christs love. We are not manipulated, obliged to live by compelled by His love (2Cor.5:14) Love which no trial and testing can separate it (Romans8:34-39)

Prayer: Lord, You took my place on the cross. You are alive and now live through me. My old nature is crucified and I live no longer after the flesh but by faith in You and compel by Your love.
