Read John 3 The Gift of Salvation

For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. (John 3:16 NKJV)

Often called the golden text of Scripture with several wonders. It begins with the greatest Giver, the Almighty, God. The extent of divine love is underscored by the use of the adverb so, a term marking the degree of intensity. It is this magnanimous love of God that motivates man to seek his grace. David Wilkerson was preaching to a gang leader who threatened him of knifing him down. His response was if he cut to a thousand pieces each piece will says, "God loves you". He is the Lover that reaches the poorest and richest, best and worst individual on earth.

Christ is the greatest Gift. It is giving of God, Himself. Christ affirmed that He came to give His life a ransom for many (Matthew 20:28) Gods love is active and sacrificial by giving His precious Son for human redemption.

The widest welcome as God offers to whoever will receive. Gods grace appeared bringing salvation to all men (Titus 2:11). The term whosoever (literally, everyone) reveals the universality of Gods saving plan. However, that even when a gift is made available, for it to be effective, one must be willing to receive it. It is not work any one can boast.

The easiest escape through faith. The word believeth is the keeping on believing ones. It connotes a trusting disposition, to comply, which not only acknowledges and holds to His word as true, but practically applies and appropriates it.

The greatest deliverance that one will not perish, meaning to destroy utterly. It does not suggest annihilation but the miserable condition of been separated from God. God is not willing that any should perish (2 Peter 3:9).

The priceless possession as has eternal life. This is an abundant life, the quality of Gods life.

Prayer: Father, You have given Your only Son to redeem me. Jesus, You have taken my place to die for my sin. You have given me eternal life and I do believe and receive. I now live this abundant life through to eternity.
