WHOLENESS
Read Luke 2 Jesus Birth and Childhood
And Jesus increased in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and men. (Luke 2:52 NKJV)
In the perfections of his divine nature there could be no necessity of increase. But He took the human nature. He is susceptible to all humans limitations as any of us. He hungers, thirst, grows weary and needed rest, air, water and food. He grows in wholeness mentally, physically, spiritually and socially.
This growth is intentional, charted a path and guarded. It means training both intellectually and physically, discipline in mind, soul and spirit, role modelling of fine examples and accountability.
His soul increased in wisdom. And the Child grew and became strong in spirit, filled with wisdom; and the grace of God was upon Him. (Luke 2:40) He speaks what the Father said and that's wisdom. He displayed it in the temple, before priests and scholars as a lad. When He had come to His own country, He taught them in their synagogue, so that they were astonished and said, Where did this Man get this wisdom and these mighty works? (Matthew 13:54)
His body increased in stature in the growing age and height. He was fit in following the father's trade, carrying up the carpentry work. He was full of the Spirit without measure that quicken Him in ministry and the balance of withdrawal for rest and refreshment. His voice was evidently clear and laid for getting the message across to 5000 plus people
He was in favour with God - right at baptism the Father's word commended Him, And a voice from heaven said, "This is my one dear Son; in him I take great delight." (Matt. 3:17) He grew in a close, personal relationship with His heavenly Father.
He also grew in His human friendships and relationships. There is no barrier of people in relating to Him except sins, particularly of religiosity that comes between. The poor and needy, the sick and the grieving, the sinners and publicans found solace and comfort in Him. Those who heard Him acknowledged His divinity.
Prayer: Lord You are the model of my growth. Let me see You through Your word. Whether be mental, physical, spiritual and social maturity. It matters the development of my being before my doing. Thank You for giving the 5fold ministry in the church that I might grow in the full stature of Christ
