A SETTLED MIND
Read Proverb 16 The Righteous Path
Commit your works to the LORD, And your thoughts will be established. (Proverbs 16:3 NKJV)
When tasked to write a 40 days Inspirational Journal for my church, it was an overwhelming task. When I commit the writing to the Lord, I felt the boldness to take the challenge. Looking back, it was God who has established my thought for the contents. It's a partnership. God initiated and I will do it. Commit your way to the LORD, Trust also in Him, And He shall bring it to pass. (Psalms 37:5). "Commit" means to roll away. We are to roll our works done the best we know how into God's care. And whatever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord and not to men, (Colossians 3:23)
When a man has, by faith and in prayer, committed himself, his case, his ways and works, to the Lord, his mind is made easy. His thoughts are composed and settled. He quietly waits the issues of things. He says, "the will of the Lord be done." He knows that God causes all things to work together for his good. Whatever is for his good is God's glory. This makes him calm, sedate, and easy.
As we walk in the light we will continually be guided with wisdom to the right ends with the most effectiveness. He works for us; we work with Him and then whatever we have done we commit the work to Him. Letting God bring about its fulfillment. Wait for Him means you have already done. Plant the seed now He will consummate it. While you work, He is at work in you bringing forth the outcome as well as molding us into the likeness of Christ.
Prayer: Lord, You have assured me of Your sovereign hand to orchestrate my destiny as I seek to understand Your will and work in partnership to its implementation. Even as I plan, I pray that I will always remember to commit all my ways to You, Lord, and allow You to direct my steps.
