LET GO AND LET GOD
Read Proverbs 3 Wisdom for Guidance
Trust in the LORD with all your heart; And lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths (Proverbs 3:5-6)
How do we know the will of the Lord? Speaking to a very competent former chairman asking what do you do when you are caught in a dilemma between two differing parties. His response was to trust God, acknowledge Him and led it go with expectancy of God bringing about the outcome. I recalled while in army camp after breaking off from a sister in relationship and attending one of my classmates wake feeling depressed and this passage came that lifted me up.
It begins with trust. Trusting Him without reservation. Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we trust in the name of the LORD our God (Psalms 20:7) He is trustworthy and withhold not from those who do what is right. You are blessed (Psalms 84:11-12).
Next is to surrender our understanding to Him. God has given us intelligence but also our independence. We ended with many plans, strategies and contingencies as well. These have often led us to relying on ourselves independent of God. We need to surrender and submit to Him alone. Indeed, my plans are not like your plans, and my deeds are not like your deeds, for just as the sky is higher than the earth, so my deeds are superior to your deeds and my plans superior to your plans. (Isa. 55:8-9). We live by faith, not by sight. (2Corinthians 5:7) Do we initiate, plot, scheme, strategize, plan and all from our perspective with the end in mind or lingering in Him and receiving His impression and confirmation at His time? Commit our work to the LORD, and then (Proverbs 16:3) This something beyond our understanding.
Finally, acknowledge Him by asking what would He have us to do? Whatever the outcome is we can acknowledge God. God is our Creator and He knows what is best. He is just, merciful and love who created us for fellowships through which we know what He has as the perfect plan for us. We simply need to discover it.
Prayer: Lord I can count on Your way. I desire to be in tune and focusing upon You with thanksgiving and gratitude. In Your perfect timing upon Your revelation, I trust and move forward so as to glorify You.
