Read I Chronicles 29 Davids Praise of God for the provision to the building

"But who am I, and who are my people, That we should be able to offer so willingly as this? For all things come from You, And of Your own we have given You." (I Chronicles 29:14)

Am I being used? Overwork underpays? Am I simply volunteering my time and life in service without monetary rewards? Such questions arise in the natural but failing to see God as the Source of all things and giving back, serving is such a blessing, privilege and exercise of wise stewardship.

Having stepping down from an employment status; I see God calling me to fulfil another role by faith. Yet without any salary God has provided me all I need to fulfil what God has assigned me to do. What motivates one in giving? Its a privilege and honour to be chosen of God to fulfil His will with the life given us.

The fact David would give cheerfully, offered what caused him and laboured in preparation for Solomon to build the temple even its not him were evidenced of (1) his recognition that he is insignificant - his background and ways God had shown him mercy (2) his people whom God had chosen in spite of their rebellions (3) his ability is empowered of God to give in return (4) his acknowledgment of God who owns all things and he is mere steward. it is God who called and give gift not us. Rick Warren to give all the proceed of books sold to church. David had seen God being working in his life and thus his faith in God empowers him to give.

Jesus set us the model. He did all the work and given all that's necessary and then at end of life He said, "it is finished Never forget who and where he came from? Recognition what he gave was from God. Attitude and humility. Posture of knowing and living that grace. It is the matter of heart for worship and gratitude. Praise God not to get blessing but praise for what he had received. Praise and worship is the key to overcome all fear and issues. Start with it before prayer. Test the heart and pleased with integrity. In the excitement of building the temple and the championing of giving; Gods interest is in the heart rather than the activities and outward appearances. He takes pleasure in uprightness, heart that give willingly (I Chronicles 29:17).

Prayer: Father God, I am thankful as I ponder of the blessings I have, the life, ministry, families and just countless. All good gifts come from You and whatever I am able to give or serve I am thankful for the opportunity and the privilege given to use Your gifts for Your glory. For those You have raised and used, those who have giving themselves freely, willingly and cheerfully in serving you; I praise You for them and bless them.
