Read I Chronicles 22 David arranges for the building of the Temple

And David said to Solomon: My son, as for me, it was in my mind to build a house to the name of the LORD my God; but the word of the LORD came to me, saying, You have shed much blood and have made great wars; you shall not build a house for My name, because you have shed much blood on the earth in My sight. (I Chronicles 22:7-8)

Have you had dreams, vision and ambition to accomplish some goals in life but never see it's fruition but your children or successors did it? Your desire matters to God and He will grant you the desire of your heart.

David was such a man. Though considered as after God's heart, chosen to unite Israel, penitent of his sins remained faithful to God in pursuing Him and doing His will ultimately. He desired where the built a temple of the LORD God but God had Solomon to fulfil this agenda (I Chronicles 22:9-10)

David left a hero's legacy of leaving a plan. He prepared both resources and manpower for Solomon to execute the task. Then charging him to build a temple. First, God's part is the assurance of His presence and wisdom. Second, Solomon's part is knowing God then obeying the law in service wholeheartedly and be strong (I Chronicles 28:20). Third, all the officials of Israel pledged their support in accomplishing the task. That's partnership between God and man.

How we ought to encourage and appreciate others with thanksgiving to God for what He has assigned to others even as much we would want to have a say, an act of the project in our preference. God knows best whom He chooses and uses.

Prayer: Father God, I am empowered to fulfil the assignment You have given me. I will leave to other the works I desire to do but not assigned to me. I may know whats left behind to glorify You is as important as what I have accomplished in my life.
