UNBELIEF ROBS THE BLESSING
Read II Kings 7 Israel plunders the Aramean camp
So an officer on whose hand the king leaned answered the man of God and said, Look, if the LORD would make windows in heaven, could this thing be? And he said, In fact, you shall see it with your eyes, but you shall not eat of it.(II Kings 7:2)
King Ben-Hadad of Syria with his entire army besieged Samaria until the food supply ran out. Joram, king of Israel was a wicked king, but he would still seek answers from God's prophet. He knew Elisha would always have the word of the LORD. Elisha replied, "This is what the LORD says, About this time tomorrow a seah of finely milled flour will sell for a shekel and two seahs of barley for a shekel at the gate of Samaria. (2 Kings 7:1)
It came true as there were four lepers who went into the enemy's camp and find it was deserted. They enjoyed the provision and shared the news with Israel. The Syrian army had fled leaving behind all their supplies because they thought the king of Israel had paid the kings of the Hittites and of Egypt to attack them.
The people having heard of the news went out and took the loots. But the kings right-hand man who was sceptical of the word God had spoken through Elisha were trampled to death by the stampede, just as the man of God had said will see it happen, but you would not eat any of the food. He lived to what he had confessed. (II Kings 7:17).
Nothing is impossible with God. He has opened the windows of heaven raining His blessings on us because of Jesus' finished work. Believe in faith and receive them.
Prayer: Father God, You are the Great Provider, and I believe You delight to bless me with more than I can ask or think, regardless of how my current circumstances may seem adverse. I move forward at Your bidding with expectation of the abundance.
