INTRODUCTION

John the beloved in exile in Patmos, wrote the four visions he received from God for the purpose of encouraging the believers to persevere in the face of trials. An apocalypse in form.

First vison, chapter 1- 3 Vison of Christ. It begins with an introduction followed with the description of Christ and His words to the Seven Churches.

Second vision, chapter 4 to 16 Vision of Coming Events. It has four sections with seven aspects from each section. (1) The Seven Scenes in heaven (Chapters 4-5). The throne of God, worship by all created creatures and 24 elders, the myriads of angels. chapter 6 8:5 - pointing to the One worthy of opening the seals depicting judgement yet with the multitudes saved.

(2) The Seven Trumpets (Chapter 8:6 - 11:19). Hail and fire huge, mountain fall, water, sky, unnatural locusts, and four angelic beings to attack with an interlude of the scroll to eat and two witnesses before the announcement of Jesus rule.

(3) The Seven Scrolls (12:1-14:20) portray the spiritual conflict between Satan and the church. Satan works through political power against Kingdom of God, Seek to get the people to have their Mark 666 but 144000 (stood with the lamb to worship God.

(4) The Seven Bowls (15:1-16:21) devastated the dry land (sores on those with marks of the beasts), sea (into blood) fresh water (into blood) and sky (scorching heat from the sun).

Third vision, Chapter 17-21 Vision of the Great Prostitute and judgment on Babylon. She lures, seated on the beast from sea. The seven messages of judgment and an interlude and final battle. Destruction of Babylon. People of God praise Him and reign with Him in the millennium Satan bound and then released after the thousand years.

Final vision, Chapter 21:9-22:5 Vision of the Wife of the Lamb and the world without evil. New Jerusalem with the river and tree of life. Glory of God.

Conclusion 22:6-21 John closes with an encouragement to believers to persevere in good work and anticipate for the coming of the Lord.
