INTRODUCTION

The author was John, who also wrote John's Gospel, Revelation, and two other letters. He has never referred himself as John, but the disciple Jesus loved. II John is a short letter, in the Bible (New Testament).

This epistle has two main parts, love and truth.

First, John was writing to a particular woman who was probably wealthy and hospitable to welcome preachers who might be false teachers. John assured its okay to refuse them as in upholding truth. Now he beseeches her to love. God orders us to love each other (2 John 5-6).

Second, John cautious of relating to the false teachers. If we are certain than we must not accept people who teach wrong things about Jesus (2 John 7-11). Not to be partaker of their evil deeds.

Jesus is God. But he became a man so that he could die for us. When he died, he suffered the punishment for our evil deeds. This is the true Christian message.
