Read II Peter 1 Assurance of Christian Faith

His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us by (to) glory and virtue, by which have been given to us exceedingly great and precious promises, that through these you may be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust. (II Peter 1:3-4 NKJV)

A young and small built lady raises her hand and all traffic comes to a stop at her signs. She is the traffic policewoman. She has all the power of the State behind her to do what she is tasked. Have you been tasked to carry out an assignment without the authority and power to do so?

God has provided us His power making it possible for us to live a life of godliness in all areas. We receive it through the knowledge we have of Christ. This is experiential and growing knowledge. You therefore, beloved, since you know this beforehand, beware lest you also fall from your own steadfastness, being led away with the error of the wicked; but grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To Him be the glory both now and forever. Amen. (II Peter 3:17-18)

He calls us to His glory and virtue. It is Jesus glory and virtue that motivated Him to call us. His glory and virtue draw us to Him as well. His glory as in His transfiguration is splendour and majestic. His virtue as in His human aspect of excellency of character.

His promises are both great and precious grace of God that we can be partakers of this divine nature enabling us to escape the corruption that is of this world.

Prayer: Lord I have no lack. I simply response and act on what You have already given me for godliness to become glorious. In responding to Your call and grace provided, I escape the corruption of this world.
