Read Hebrews 6 Danger of Apostacy

For God is not unjust to forget your work and labor of love which you have shown toward His name, in that you have ministered to the saints, and do minister. (:10) And we desire that each one of you show the same diligence to the full assurance of hope until the end, (:11) that you do not become sluggish, but imitate those who through faith and patience inherit the promises. (Hebrews 6:10-12 NKJV)

God is just. Then I said, I have labored in vain, I have spent my strength for nothing and in vain; Yet surely my just reward is with the Lord, And my work with my God. (Isaiah 49:4) Prophetic picture of Christ, the servant shows God never forgets all we have done for Him and His people. The cause for service is God Himself when done in His name.

Ministry is about God before people. Its our act of thanksgiving to God that flow the life of serving others. This is motivated by the love of God. Serving can be by way of encouragement, active involvement even in prayer. It is rendered to His people as much as to God Himself.

We therefore serve diligently with full assurance of His blessings to the end.

Watch, stand fast in the faith, be brave, be strong. Let all that you do be done with love. (I Corinthians 16:13-14) Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain in the Lord. (1Corinthians 15:58)

Discouragement can easily make us sluggish, feel like giving up. First, we lose the desire to press on then we lose the desire to go on. Paul challenges us to the assurance of hope, And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart. (Galatians 6:9)

just as those who have gone before us. They through faith and patience inherit the promises. The example of Epaphras, as you also learned from Epaphras, our dear fellow servant, who is a faithful minister of Christ on your behalf, (Colossians 1:7)

Prayer: Lord, You be the Centre of my service. Thank you for the many fine examples of men and women You have empowered them to serve. I am motivated by Your love. You are my Reward and thats enough.
