Read Hebrews 4 Promise of Rest

Seeing then that we have a great High Priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession. For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin. Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need. (Hebrews 4:14-16 NKJV)

For there is one God and one Mediator between God and men, the Man Christ Jesus, (I Timothy 2:5) Christ plead on our behalf, My little children, these things I write to you, so that you may not sin. And if anyone sins, we have an Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous. And He Himself is the propitiation for our sins, and not for ours only but also for the whole world. (1John 2:1-2)

Christ is our Great High Priest, who offered Himself as the perfect before God on our behalf and now in the presence of God. For such a High Priest was fitting for us, who is holy, harmless, undefiled, separate from sinners, and has become higher than the heavens; who does not need daily, as those high priests, to offer up sacrifices, first for His own sins and then for the peoples, for this He did once for all when He offered up Himself. (Hebrews 7:26-27).

I was feeling very lousy after bursting forth in my anger and it was in the care group that I attended when this passage was discussed. It comforted me greatly that regardless of whatever my feeling is, I have someone mediating on my behalf and He understands. This passage exalts us to approach to God through Christ, be honest with whatever that is within us and confidence of receiving mercy and grace.

Approach God through Christ, Be honest as He sympathizes with our weaknesses for, He took on humanity subjected to common weakness, afflictions and pressure, but made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bondservant, and coming in the likeness of men. (Philippians 2:7) For in that He Himself has suffered, being tempted, He is able to aid those who are tempted. (Hebrews 2:18)

Confidence of receiving mercy and grace. Come constantly and confidently however many and repeated times you desire. We obtain mercy (this is not getting what we deserve) and find grace (this is getting what we don't deserve) in our time of need.

Prayer: Lord I hold fast to my confession as You are my High Priest. You fully understand me and my desire. I surrender You my struggle as You represent me before the Father. I am confident of receiving and living out the grace and mercy here in this life.
