Read II Timothy 1 Encouragement in Light of Pauls Situation

For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind. (II Timothy 1:7 NKJV)

Paul sends Timothy to Ephesus to oversee the work he had started. He couldn't do it any longer as he was imprisoned. He encourages Timothy to be courageous as he was young and inexperienced. He needs to rekindle it (1Timothy 4:14)

God gives us many gifts but not fear. Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning. (James 1:17) The tool the evil ones would have us react to circle causing worries. Speaking negatively. Such timidity will keep us from using the gifts God gives. This fear is cowardice, self-centredness that hinders the work needed to be done for God. It's not the fear of God or authority which is respect and due regard. Reverential fear which stirs us to obedience. Fear, abbreviated is False Evidence Appears Real. Its the greatest hindrances to faith and moving forward. God gives the spirit of love. We are given the spirit of a sound mind in contrast to a confused, worried and restless mind. It exercises wisdom; its the mind of Christ. It dwells on whatever is true, whatever is worthy of respect, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if something is excellent or praiseworthy (Phil. 4:6). With prudence and consistency to live a life of power and love.

Prayer: Lord it's Your love I overcome fear and exercise the spirit of power and sound mind. You have purposed that what I am within will help others without.
