INTRODUCTION

Paul met Timothy in Lystra (Acts 16:1-3; 2Tim.1:5). He mentored him and send him as an apostolic delegate to confront the church in Ephesus when he heard of the chaos and false teaching in the church. He wrote to encourage Timothy, I write so that you may know how you ought to conduct yourself in the house of God, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and ground of the truth. (I Timothy 3:15)

Chap. 1 Commandment of God. It is one of love, hope, life, truth and certainty, its not fables and genealogies dwelling on the past glories which cause dispute rather than godly edification and built faith. The law was meant for the lawless but we being in the New Covenant and living in Christ, no longer walk our own way, but way of faith (:7-11). Characteristics of the Apostle for that matter any spiritual leaders are: faithfulness (:12), merciful (:16). Though Paul saw his unworthiness yet trusted by God to handle the ministry because the grace of God (:13-15).

Chapter 2. Call to pray both for those in authorities. He commented on men being angry debaters over theology and women wearing expensive clothes that stumble and cause confusion among the believers (:8-15)

Chapter 3. Characters of Overseers (:1-6) and deacon (:8-16) as role models to do ministry as Christ did.

Chapters 4-6 Conducts of believers (1) False teaching that distorted view of marriage (2) Care of the widows (3) Older men and (4) Slaves regard to their masters (5) Teachers that serve for their own wealth. which He will manifest in His own time, He who is the blessed and only Potentate, the King of kings and Lord of lords, who alone has immortality, dwelling in unapproachable light, whom no man has seen or can see, to whom be honor and everlasting power. Amen. (I Timothy 6:15-16)
