Read Colossians 3 Living the New Life
Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord. And whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him. (Colossians 3:16-17 NKJV)
Irene was awarded the best staff of the year. A great surprise and the reason given was she would go about her work always with a smile.
Paul describes a life in God as a life of thankful worship. It's letting the word of Christ dwelling in us richly. It involves reading, studying, meditating and memorizing and putting into practise. it is not simply head knowledge but an appropriate application that brings life to situation we are in. Thats wisdom.
When we have the word dwell in us richly; we will also communicate it by teaching, instruction, correction and warning whenever appropriate. Paul exhorts the use of psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, the words bring praises to God. The admonition will be God-centred and God-focused rather than the individual failure. It uplifts the soul and spirit within. These biblical truths are essential for worship.
All of life is to be a sacred experience of living gratefully under the Lordship of Jesus Christ. In every aspect of life, we can reflect the joy of salvation as we speak and act in the name of Christ.
Its an expression of our dependence upon Him when we do anything with an attitude of thankful worship and submission to His rightful lordship.
Prayer: Lord, You are dwelling in me as I dwell in Your word. With wisdom from the word I am able to teach and admonish making melody in my heart. I am able to do all things for Your glory as it's done in Your Name thus reflecting You.
