Read Ephesians 6 Relating to Relationship and Warfare

Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. (Ephesians 6:10 - 11 NKJV)

Paul now concludes with this grand finale of engaging in spiritual warfare. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. (Ephesians 6:12) Our conflicts will often appear in the natural yet behind it is spiritual so is our weapon. Addressing them as his brethren, sharing the same identity in Christ.

Earlier Paul mentioned of his unceasing prayer for their inner man to be strengthened. This comes as they receive the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of God, knowing the hope of His calling, the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints, and the exceeding greatness of His power toward those who believe (Ephesians 1:16-19). Now with that to put on the whole armor of God, able to stand against the wiles of the devil. In warfare we are to stand firm, girded up, put on and take on are in the imperative.

The armor comprises the belt of truth not deception, the breastplate of righteousness not outward self-image, the shoes of the gospel not legalism, the shield of faith not work, the helmet of salvation not with lording over authority and the sword of the Spirit not human schemes and programs. (Ephesians 6:14-17)

Satans schemes against us come to nothing when we stand against them in the power of God. The wiles of accusation, condemnation, fear, doubt and criticism are to distract our attention from the Lord. Thus with Gods provision we are able to stand. Four motivations in warfare - (1) taking the spoils that's of eternal values (2) hate what God hated like the "Amalekites" (3) to acknowledge Jesus is Lord over every sphere of life (4) to honor the name of God' above all other names.

Prayer: Lord, whatever comes to mind; be it through dreams, circumstances, voices, even feelings and attitudes I stand aware of spiritual warfare with the enemy. Knowing I am in You, the Christ and Conqueror of all, dressed in You as my full Amour; I am therefore consciousness of my victory.
