Read Ephesians 1 Spiritual Blessing in Christ

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ, (Ephesians 1:3 NKJV)

Have you looked back and thought of someone who is the cause of your blessing in position, resources and relationships you are now enjoying? For Paul; he sees God the Source of all his spiritual blessing. He is overwhelmed with worship to God who has made every spiritual blessing of the past (erection :3-6), present (redemption ;6-11) and future (inheritance :12-14) available to us through and in Christ from verses three to fourteen in one full sentence.

God has chosen us in eternity past (1:4). This excludes any of our merits. Yet we can decide if we accept or deny His choice of us. Responding to Gods choice positively makes us blameless before Him.

God has adopted us as His sons (1:5) making us joint heirs with Christ, having the rights to His inheritance. We thus bear the witness of the Spirit that we cry out Abba Father and being led by the Spirit (Romans 8:14-17).

God has redeemed us for Himself (1:7) through the blood of Christ. We are therefore now not our own but Gods (1Corinthians 6:19-20)

God has revealed to us the mystery of His will (1:9) that is to bring us all into one in Christ and to obtain an inheritance in the fullness of time. God has sealed us with His Spirit of Promise (:13-14). We are assured of our inheritance.

All these acts of God are not without His foreknowledge of ones choice and His predestination centered in Christ. For He knew those who would trust after having heard the word of truth, the gospel of salvation; and having believed (:12-13). All these He does with pleasure as they are meant to bring Him the glory and praise to have Christ as the Head over all things (1:22-23)

Prayer: Father God, I thank You for choosing me before the foundation of the earth. You have predestined to conform to Your image and placed me in the position empowers me to live in conformity to Your likeness with joy. I am Your child by adoption. I am joint heir with Christ for the inheritance promised me. I am so spiritually blessed that I am not deceived by the worldliness which is no match to what possessions I have already had gotten in Christ. Surer of the assurance I have been sealed with the Holy Spirit.
