Read II Corinthians 10 Pauls Dfense of Apostleship

For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ, (II Corinthians 10:4-6 NKJV)

Paul was defending his apostolic credentials as they accused him of calling himself apostle who wasnt in the twelve. This as Paul sees it as a spiritual warfare. They seek to discredit Paul and thus the gospel he preaches. They did so by manipulative and deceitful ways.

This warfare is spiritual, principalities, rulers of the darkness of this age, spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. (Ephesians 6:12) so is the weapon Paul used truth, righteousness, gospel of peace, shield of faith, helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit which is the word of God (Ephesians 6:14-17). He would exercise his spiritual authority delegated of God using these weapons.

Such weapons are like dynamite enabling us to break down strongholds. These strongholds are expressed in wrong thoughts and perceptions that have a hold on people. Resistance that has been built for years which hardened their hearts. It is hard to let go of the thinking that values the things and ways of this world, Only Gods power can break down these strongholds.

As the battle is in the mind, we cast down every argument that is opposed to God. Those thoughts that are of the world lording over authority, human schemes and division out of pride, condoning sin, not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. (Romans 12:2)

We bring into captive every thoughts of lust, thoughts of anger, thoughts of fear, thoughts of greed, bitter thoughts, evil thoughts to the obedience of Christ, giving no foothold to the enemy.

Prayer: Lord, when it comes to defending myself or ministry of Your word, I asked that I be Your channel of truth and not manipulation, humility and not pride, Your Gospel and not my story. Your peace that I sense in every warfare. The battle is Yours and outcome is settled. I have the privilege to be Your channel in exerting Your will
