LIFE OVERFLOW
Read II Corinthians 9 Stewardship
And God is able to, that you, always having all sufficiency in all things, may have an abundance for every good work. (II Corinthians 9:8 NKJV)
Paul was writing in area of giving and he sees it as the grace of God being exercised. He extends now to every other aspect of our lives. His grace avails for all occasions.
The source of grace is God. Note the number of superlatives used giving emphasis of God's great generosity and power to exercise it. He makes it abundance to us, personally and individually.
The sufficiency of grace. Always persistently sufficient to resist temptation. We can still overcome. Strength of temptation but the sufficiency of His grace. Moreover the law entered that the offense might abound. But where sin abounded, grace abounded much more, (Romans 5:20) In trial, without removing it, He gives the strength to go through. It is there when it is needed. And He said to me, My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness. Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. (II Corinthians 12:9)
The scope of grace is in all things. We are tapping on His grace each time we think of serving, facing trials as much as giving. Creating in us the desire and the power to do His will. for it is God who works in you both to will and to do for His good pleasure. (Philippians
The summation of grace is that we may be able to abound in every good work. For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them. (Ephesians 2:10)
Prayer: Lord, where I am and who I am is because of Your grace. I receive and have the abundance of Your grace day by day. This is evidence of overcoming temptation, abounding in all good works and without bitterness as I face the challenges each time.
