TREASURE WITHIN
Read II Corinthians 4 The Glorious Gospel
But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellence of the power may be of God and not of us. (II Corinthians 4:7 NKJV)
A man noticed a canvas bag with a bunch of hardened clay balls while exploring a cave by the sea. It looked like someone left them out in the sun to bake but had abandoned them. As he strolled along the beach, he threw the clay balls one at a time into the ocean as far as he could. He thought little about it until he dropped one of the clay balls and it cracked open on a rock. To his surprise, there was a precious stone inside!
All of us in Christ are like the clay balls with the treasure within us. We are God's living vessels. Though frail and weak both in physical and in the natural subjected to weaknesses of the flesh nevertheless the treasure in us is eternal, is Christ. There is the indwelling of the Spirit of God. It is not what you are but what's inside that makes it.
We simply cannot put a value on. It is rare. For instance, the pottery signed by artists and show its value. It's attached to someone who has knowledge of it. As for us Christ has placed His signature on it. The Lord our Master Potter has made us so that we can be of best use for His glory. The treasure within is eternal. We will continue to be cherished before God through eternality.
In stage we are, We are hard-pressed on every side, yet not crushed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; (II Corinthians 4:8 NKJV) so that the excellence of the power may be of God and not of us. God speaks when we listen, He works when we rest.
Prayer: Lord I need not attempt to prove myself as competent. I have left doing the work with You and through me.
