SPIRIT OF LIBERTY
Read II Corinthians 3 Ministry in the New Covenant
Now the Lord is the Spirit; and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty. (II Corinthians 3:17 NKJV)
Paul reminded the Corinthians of their relationship with him. They were his living epistles. As they do not live by the law but by the spirit. Paul serves as minister of the new covenant which is by the spirit. The Spirit gives counsel, wisdom and life, They are therefore not under the law but the Spirit.
God is a Spirit and they who worship Him must do so in spirit and truth (John 4:24). We sense Him in our spirit. We are led by His Spirit when we seek to be led. Nothing mechanical and no methodology but the witness takes place within our spirit (Romans 8)
The Holy Spirit of the Lord liberates us from the grip and power of sin, bondages we were subjected to prior to conversion. He is at work within us that result in our transformation. He is the Spirit of grace.
The law brings bondages as by our fallen nature we react adversely to the law. We come under condemnation under the law whereas the liberty in the Spirit enabling us to feel loved and encouraged to live in the spirit of the law.
We have free access and beholding the Lord. Doing freely what they are led to do. We are being changed from glory to glory. And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free. (John 8:32) Knowing the Truth set you free.
Prayer: Lord wherever I am and be I want to acknowledge Your presence and thus exercise the liberty You have given me.
