who will also confirm you to the end, that you may be blameless in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ. God is faithful, by whom you were called into the fellowship of His Son, Jesus Christ our Lord. (I Corinthians 1:8-9 NKJV)
Paul begins with his greeting and encouragement to the believers in Corinth. He mentions of their enrichment in Christ. The Lord has given them all utterance and all knowledge through His grace. They do not fall short in spiritual gift as they wait for the coming of Christ (1:4-7). We note what Paul is about to admonish them; he begins with love and this exhortation through Christ at the end.
Final finish is one of confirmation by God. Confirm means to render steadfast. Though the Corinthians had many faults yet God would see them through by His grace. He will preserve from falling. Certainly be held steadfast. A guarantee of future inheritance. As long you are in Christ. The end - we come to the totality of our salvation. (:4) Blameless the day of the Lord. No charge or accusations. Subjective experience will correspond to our objective standing. Seeing Him we are as He is. Not imputed but in actuality. Faithful Father. God is faithful, although men including believers are not. Their final finish is due to the faithfulness of the Heavenly Father. His faithfulness cannot fail. being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ; (Philippians 1:6 NKJV)
Full Fellowship. It is God who called them into the fellowship by union with Christ. It means anything that believers share together concerning the things of Christ. It means partnership by abiding in Him by dwelling over what He said and who He is to extend of partaking His life. It involves a combination of mutual concern Christ is interested in us; we are interested in Him. A mutual commitment His resources are ours. We are committed to Him; He to us. A mutual compassion He accommodates Himself to our weakness. His power is ours. Loving and enjoying His presence. Bearing fruit and witness with Christ's desires. It's communion with Him as companions and committed to keep His commandments by loving one another. Faith unites us with God and fellowship brings us into conformity with Him.
The title His Son He is God the Son; here it is His relationship to the Father. Jesus His human name. Christ His title (Messiah, Anointed).and Our Lord He is our Lord; this is our relationship to Him.
Prayer: Lord I am counting on your faithfulness. You will present me blameless before the Father. It is on the basis of Your righteousness and what You have done. I will be like as You are in the day of Your coming.
