Read Acts 19 21 Pauls Third Missionary Journey

But none of these things move me; nor do I count my life dear to myself, so that I may finish my race with joy, and the ministry which I received from the Lord Jesus, to testify to the gospel of the grace of God. (Acts 20:24 NKJV)

This was spoken during his third missionary journey. He met with the believers from Ephesus at Miletus and biding them farewell. They cautious him not to go Jerusalem as he would be arrested and life in danger.

Paul was not moved or be affected by what the uncertainties that lie ahead. He was not motivated by fear but faith. Life asks questions what benefits me but faith what pleases God. His life was one of submission by faith to fulfil God's mission. The just shall live by faith.

Paul thought of himself as an accountant, weighing carefully the credits and the expenses; and in the end, he does not count his own life dear to him, compared to his God and how he can serve him. Having his life surrendered totally to God; he would not allow any concerns to distract his commitment to God in fulfilling his calling. In subsequent confession, What do you mean by weeping and breaking my heart? For I am ready not only to be bound, but also to die at Jerusalem for the name of the Lord Jesus. So when he would not be persuaded, we ceased, saying, The will of the Lord be done. (Acts 21:13-14)He knew God alone has the final say as to his life.

He sees his life as in a race. There is a course, a beginning and an end. He would certainly finish the course. He wants to look back and be able to say with joy he had accomplished what was set for him.

He has received the calling, the ministry as he would testify of to the Jews and the Gentiles concerning the gospel of grace. Obedience is more important than success and the results. it.

Prayer: Lord, l surrender my life to You. You have called me and set me apart for the ministry. This is the result of Your grace that turned me around. With my life given You, I need not fear whatever time I have here on earth. I pursue to finish the race by fulfilling Your call with joy.
