Reading Acts 9 Sauls encounter with Jesus.

As he journeyed he came near Damascus, and suddenly a light shone around him from heaven. Then he fell to the ground, and heard a voice saying to him, Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting Me? And he said, Who are You, Lord? Then the Lord said, I am Jesus, whom you are persecuting. It is hard for you to kick against the goads. (Acts 9:3-5 NKJV)

Do you know of someone who makes mockery of the Christian and his faith? I was,Show me Jesus, ask him to appear before me if you believe he is real? I asked one who witnessed to me prior to my conversion.

Sahu Sundah Singh was persecuting the Christians and burning the New Testament. He came to a point he was searching for the true God after his mother death. He became delusion of being a devout religious person. At the point of attempting suicide unless the true God appears; he saw a light that came to his room. He heard the voice, "Why persecute me?" Sahu wondered and the reply was I am Jesus of Nazareth.

Here we read of Saul of Tarsus on his way to persecute the disciples of Christ. As he was near Damascus, he was stricken by such light that he embellished and heard the voice. The answer came as he inquired who is the one speaking. The Lord revealed to Saul that he was persecuting Him. Saul was not aware thinking he was pursuing God in accordance to the practise of Judaism.

We would have condemned such a man of intolerance. But Christ knew Saul's name and his sincerity. It's the unfathomable love of God that He would save such a one who even persecuted Him. A change from what the law meant to him with the experience of grace. From a persecutor to an apostle. From a terror to be a comforter of Christs disciples.

Whether it be our salvation or calling it is all initiated of God. We were dead in trespasses and thus will never be our ability to search and know the living God. It's by nature we pursue our will with pride until God turns us to Himself. It reminds us too here how we treat believers we might need to be aware that's the way we are treating Christ as well.

Prayer: Lord how You have revealed to me, quickened me and turned me around is only Your grace. I can only surrender my life to live out Your grace in the way I serve You, and witness to others of what You have done. More so what I said of Your children and how I relate to them. Grant me the awareness I am speaking with Your feeling for them.
