3 August (Day 216) BY MINE SPIRIT

Read Zechariah 4 The Vision of the Golden Lampstand and two olive trees

So he answered and said to me: This is the word of the LORD to Zerubbabel: Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit, Says the LORD of hosts. (Zechariah 4:6 NKJV)

Zerubbabel was the governor of Jerusalem, and had the responsibility to finish the work of rebuilding the temple. The work had stalled, and Zerubbabel needed encouragement to carry on the work.

God spoke to Zerubbabel in vision of the lampstand and two olive trees by its sides. God wants him to know that the Holy Spirit would continually supply his need to accomplish the rebuilding of the temple. it is not humans might, as in collective strength, or individual power that the temple will be rebuilt, but by the Spirit of God.

A prophecy of Christ, the Builder of His church, The temple was a type of the church, and Zerubbabel a type of Christ; he was in high esteem, in his titles and characters, a servant of the Lord, and governor of Judah, and in his work, in bringing the Jews out of captivity, and in rebuilding the temple In that day, says the LORD of hosts, I will take you, Zerubbabel My servant, the son of Shealtiel, says the LORD, and will make you like a signet ring; for I have chosen you, says the LORD of hosts. (Haggai 2:23).

The church is built up in all generations through the conversion of sinners; and that is done, not by external force, by carnal weapons, or moral persuasion; but by the sword of the Spirit, the word of God; and not by the power of man's free will, but by the efficacious grace of the divine Spirit.

There is the mountain. If God calls you to it. He will see you through it.

Who are you, O great mountain? Before Zerubbabel you shall become a plain! And he shall bring forth the capstone With shouts of Grace, grace to it! (Zechariah

Prayer: Lord, the work You have entrusted us is never done by our might or our power. Nothing is possible with human intervention unless You have quickened us by Your Spirit and done the same upon those who we minister to.
