Read Amos 7 Visions for Israel

And the LORD said to me, Amos, what do you see? And I said, A plumb line. Then the Lord said: Behold, I am setting a plumb line In the midst of My people Israel; I will not pass by them anymore. (Amos 7:8 NKJV)

I recalled attending an inner healing seminar. Bruce Thomson spoke of God's divine plumb line places against the wall we erected our own. We then white washed it. Ezekiel was told to dig a hole into the wall and look what was inside. It was corrupt (Ezekiel 13:12-15). When the trial of life come like the storm it will not stand but collapse. We have been hurt in life but we suppressed it and we build a wall to cover out. I kept pleasing mom in spite of the hurt and when I acknowledged it with my fist opened, the tears streamed down my cheek and I felt such a release.

The metaphor Amos used as he saw was the builders check the walls they have erected with a plumb-line. It's a line with a plummet at the end of it to check if the wall is straight, true, and by the rule.

Israel was likened to a wall, a strong wall, which God himself had raised as a wall of defence. However they rebelled and erected one of their own. God now stands upon it with a plumb-line in his hand, to take measure of it. It appears to be a bending and bulging wall. Thus God would bring the people of Israel to the trial, would discover their wickedness, and show wherein they have erred. God is coming to the ruin of a people, to lay judgment to the line and righteousness to the plummet for when he punishes it is with exactness. Time and time again He has withheld His judgment in listening to Amoss prayer but this time is final as they have continued in their rebellion.

Prayer: Lord I am a wall before You and it cannot stand to your standard by the way I would have build. It is Christ my foundation and His righteousness that stand to Your measurement. Thanks for Your love over me have kept me up right.
