THE RESTORATION
Read Amos 9 A Divinely-Governed Nation
On that day I will raise up The tabernacle of David, which has fallen down, And its damages; I will raise up its ruins, And rebuild it as in the days of old; That they may possess the remnant of Edom, And all the Gentiles who are called by My name, Says the Lord who does this thing. (Amos
The relationship status Israel has with God was one of rebellion just like the other nations. Amos has been prophesying judgment on the nations including Israel was inevitable. What an abrupt change to the glorious end. He points to the day where God will raise up the tabernacle of David. The tent where King David places the ark, appoints worshippers, singers. musicians to offer praises to God, day and night. This has come to an end as well as Davids royal line through the captivities and the scattering of the Jews.
God will rebuild it, regather Israel even to the remnant of Edom (mankind). The reason of the divine judgment is not revenge, but the only way in which it is possible to usher in the restored order on which the heart of God is set. God's purposes for the nation of Israel have not changed. This was prophetic of Yeshua coming to earth to "tabernacle" or dwell in the midst of his people.
The return of Messiah is totally connected to the restoration of the Jewish people in their homeland, because He is to sit on the throne of David!
God announced that even Gentiles who are called by My name would come into His kingdom under the Messiah. The Apostle James got the revelatory answer, After this I will return And will rebuild the tabernacle of David, which has fallen down; I will rebuild its ruins, And I will set it up; So that the rest of mankind may seek the Lord, Even all the Gentiles who are called by My name...", (Acts 15: 16 & 17), The Holy Spirit is accelerating the joining of Jewish and Gentile believers into the one new man to worship God together (Ephesians 2,4).
Prayer: Lord, You move toward Your end in mind as for our ultimate good and glory. It is embedded in Your love for us. We take our roles to intercede for the gathering of the Jews and revelation of the Messiah as well as our personal journey in alignment to Your purpose.
