Read Jeremiah 9 The Temple Message: No knowledge of God

Thus says the LORD: Let not the wise man glory in his wisdom, Let not the mighty man glory in his might, Nor let the rich man glory in his riches; But let him who glories glory in this, That he understands and knows Me, That I am the LORD, exercising loving kindness, judgment, and righteousness in the earth. For in these I delight, says the LORD. (Jeremiah 9:23-24)

How easy and unintentional we boast of our heritage, efforts and what appeal to men.

Jeremiah warns Israel of the inevitable judgment because of her sin. However, she boasts of her politics, powers and prosperity and the city impregnable. In answer to this the Lord shows them the folly of trusting on and boasting of all these external factors.

The mighty not to glory in his might. Nebuchadnezzar thought of his might became a beast for 7 years. Alexandra the Great conquered almost the whole world, cried because there's no more place to conquer yet simply died at young age of sickness.

The rich should not to glory in his riches; the story of the rich fool who was presumptuous boasted of his wealth and prepare nothing for eternality was taken away the same night. The rich fool who thought of all he had and about to enjoy that night his soul was required of him.

Where true glory lies is in the Lord. We take glory through knowing God. When we see spiritually who the Lord is we boast of Him, share that glorious moment of knowing Him. Through this experiential knowledge, we are been transformed and manifest His life.

One takes glory when he acknowledges God exercises loving-kindness, judgment, and righteousness in the earth. He is not only just to all Hs creatures and will do no wrong to any of them, but kind to all His children and will protect them and provide for them.

Prayer: Lord You are Trustworthy, absolutely and totally whom we can boast. We need not focus on ourselves as we are preoccupied with boasting You.
