Read Isaiah 40 Message of Hope to Israel

But those who wait on the LORD Shall renew their strength; They shall mount up with wings like eagles, They shall run and not be weary, They shall walk and not faint (Isaiah 40:31 NKJV)

Israel lost hope when they were destroyed by the Assyrians and Babylonians. They hang their harp and couldnt sing (Ps.137:4) In the midst of it, God sent His comfort through His prophet Isaiah (40:1); asked why and directed their attention to who God is ((Isaiah 40:27-29)

What is the way out? Wait. It is active anticipating with vigilance for God alone. Therefore I will look to the LORD; I will wait for the God of my salvation; My God will hear me. (Micah 7:7) The LORD is good to those who wait for Him, To the soul who seeks Him. It is good that one should hope and wait quietly For the salvation of the LORD. (Lamentations 3:25-26) Our soul waits for the LORD; He is our help and our shield. (Psalms 33:20)

What is the outcome? Our weakness is exchanged with His divine strength. God does the exchange, the renewal not us. We are exercising our faith while waiting upon God. Paul said, His strength is perfected in our weakness (II Corinthians 12:9)

The threefold progression in reverse. Instead of the natural as walk, run and then fly. It is the supernatural. He started us with mounted wing as eagles. We soar upward towards God in the strength of divine grace, even entering into the holiest, and raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, that in the ages to come He might show the exceeding riches of His grace in His kindness toward us in Christ Jesus. (Ephesians 2:6-7)

With that lifted spiritual platform we can run without being weary. Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, (Hebrews 12:1)

Finally, with that is happening we walk, As you therefore have received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in Him, good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them. (Ephesians 2:10)

Prayer: Lord You have initiated the stir within me for a longing to wait upon You. This is where I exercise faith and become fortitude to soar with Your strength, run with perseverance and walk in fruitfulness.
