Read Isaiah 30 Call to trust God and not Egypt

For thus says the Lord GOD, the Holy One of Israel: "In returning and rest your shall be saved; In quietness and confidence shall be your strength." But you would not," (Isaish.30:15 NKJV)

We have occasions that seem overwhelming. Whether work incompetency, financial failures or relationships breakdown. We became restless and turning to men for help without first seeking the Lords guidance. It is futile to depend on human power independence of Gods will.

Israel was under threat at this time. Assyria was attacking her. In anxiety Israel turned to Egypt for help. The prophet called Israel to return to the Lord, to rely and trust Him instead of seeking the heathens for help. By so doing; they will find rest in God. Rest (calm) in the LORD, and wait patiently for Him; Do not fret because of him who prospers in his way, Because of the man who brings wicked schemes to pass. (Psalms 37:7)

God promised them salvation (deliverance), security. Judah rejected Gods promise, and trusted in horses and other external sources instead. If their trust is Gods promise instead, they would never have had reason to flee, and would have seen the LORDs salvation and strength instead. It was so in the time of Moses when they were fleeing from the Egyptians, Be still and the Lord will fight for you. (Exodus 14:14)

We can be actively involved in ministry, make sacrifices, but is there a sense of confidence trust, surrender and quietness of waiting upon the Lord and been led by His Spirit? It is abiding in the Lord (John 15:5). Walking with Him through the day in constant communion.

Prayer: Lord I have come to a dead end, realised how much I want to do can be in vain, the desire to be approved, applauded and accepted is eating me up. The excitement, personal ways and plans of serving You may not be out of the impatient of my flesh, I come now before You and find You my rest, my Salvation and lingering in Your presence in silence is refreshing to me, is renewing of my strength in the inner man. You are my Peace. Your promises will come through for me.
