Read Psalms 118 The Chief Corner Stone

I shall not die, but live, And declare the works of the LORD. (Psalms 118:17 NKJV)

During COVID 19 people were advised to stay home and be safe. However, life is uncertain. One can live in the war zone area and another passed on in the land of peace. Yes, in all practical measure and prudence we avoid places of danger yet obedience to God is safest to be in the place where God wants us to be.

This is one of the psalms of Halle (Psalms 113-118) sang at the annual feast in conjunction after the Passover. Jesus probably sang this with His disciples before going to Gethsemane (Matthew 26:30) A Messianic psalm as we see the many verses alluding to Christ. He quoted The stone which the builders rejected Has become the chief cornerstone. (:22). As He enters Jerusalem to the His death at the cross, Blessed is he who comes in the name of the LORD! We have blessed you from the house of the LORD. (:26).

The Psalmist starts with thanksgiving of God's mercy that endures forever!" (:1-4). His trust in the LORD than man (:5-9); the threat from his enemies surrounding him (:10-13); his triumph as the LORD is his strength, song and salvation (:14-27) ending with thanksgiving (:28-29)

These words may be considered as the words of Christ; who, though He came into the world to die, and did die for the sins of his people; yet He knew He should not die before His time, nor should He continue long under the power of death; but should live again, and live for evermore, and not die. Death has no more dominion over Him; see ( ) ( ) but live to declare the wonderful appearances of God in a providential way, and all his marvelous works of grace; as So the Messiah declared the name of God, his nature, perfections, mind and will, word and works, among his brethren in the great congregation, ( ) We too lived through this generation to glorify God, by declaring what He had done for them and others.

Prayer: Lord, I shall not die as You are the Resurrection and the Life. I am granted life that I might declare Your loving kindness throughout my generation.
