Read Psalm 27 Declaration of Faith

One thing I have desired of the LORD, That will I seek: That I may dwell in the house of the LORD All the days of my life, To behold the beauty of the LORD, And to inquire in His temple. (Psalms 27:4 NKJV)

Multi-tasking had caused me make some mistakes. While eating and talking, I was also meddling my phone. I mistakenly wipe out 22 days of devotional passages on Psalms. It reminds me how important it is to have one thing and stay focus. Here is one who knew whats to have the one thing!

First, the desire that comes from the Lord. Many things as well as people get our attention and we are drawn to many desires to find satisfaction but the desire for God can only be from Him.

Second, the decision to seek after which he was drawn into. Desire isnt enough. It calls for a decision to pursue. David prays now incessantly to obtain it. When You said, Seek My face, My heart said to You, Your face, Lord, I will seek. (:8)

Third, the determination to dwell in the house of the Lord. David envied the sparrows and swallows, that built their nests on the altars in it; and reckoned a day in it is better than a thousand elsewhere. He longs for it to Saul's court. He would not choose an affluence of worldly riches and honors above the presence of God. He is now deprived of it. Psalm 27 attributes to as written early in David's life, during his flight from ,

Fourth, the delight to behold the beauty of the Lord who being the brightness of his Father's glory. The beholding of the Lord brings peace and confidence. More so becoming like Him, Reflection of His likeness "But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord." (II Corinthians 3:18 NKJV)

Finally, the discovery in the temple. For in the house of the Lord, is the pillar of truth, to consult in matters of difficulty, to search after the knowledge of divine things, and to ask for blessings of grace.

Prayer: Lord, You are my focus and my preoccupation in the midst of the congregation Your Body and temple. As I behold You; I lose sight of things which would have troubled me.
