Read Psalms 23 The Shepherd Psalm

The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want. (Psalms 23:1 NKJV)

Relationship that is personal, " is my. Two men were requested to recite this Psalms before a large audience. The first quoted like an eloquent orator that caused the audience to their standing ovation and loud applause. The second an elderly soft-spoken man recited the same Psalms. The audience were in silence, some kneeling and some tearing and sobbing. The difference is one knows the Psalms but the other knew the Shepherd of the Psalms.

Resource is always sufficient. The good shepherd gives His life for the sheep. (John

Rest and Refreshing in His leading (:2). He leads us greenest pasture to find rest and by the stream for refreshing. It is refreshing when we see Christ in our devotion, fellowship and activities.

Restoration to our soul. When the sheep turned over on its back it cannot get up. He is left in this condition he will either become a victim to wild beasts or gases that build up within his body will cut off his circulation and eventually kill him. The Lord restores us when we fall.

Righteousness as we follow the path He leads (:3). Christ is our Righteousness and we need not count on our own putting pressure on ourselves when we fall short.

Reassurance for us in the valley of the threat of death (:4); His rod and staff though meant for discipline are comforts to us for preservation and protection.

Resurrection as we shall dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of his life (:6). Gods house is His presence Himself. His twin angels, goodness and mercy shall follow us. We must not look behind but forward to the assurance that at the end is the eternal presence with Him.

Prayer: Lord, You are the Good Shepherd, who called me by name. I recognize Your call and hear Your voice, I have a personal relationship with you, I am your resource and you will never lack. Come to Me and find your rest, drink of Me and be refreshed, I have restored you and led you in My righteousness. I will constantly reassure you with My presence even in discipline to revitalize you with the anointing. My mercy and favour of goodness will follow you to your resurrection and reunion with Me forever.
