Read Job 38-41 God answers Job

Then the LORD answered Job out of the whirlwind, and said: Who is this who darkens counsel By words without knowledge? (Job 38:1-2 NKJV)

God is longsuffering. Whatever had transpired among Job and his friends must have deeply grieved the LORD. In His time, God reveals Himself and speaks in various ways. He speaks in a still small voice as well out of whirlwind as in this occasion. It displays His majesty, that command reverence and attention.

God answered Job through a rhetorical question. It was a reproof to Jobs three friends who had spoken. Their counsel, sense and sentiments of things were obscure and mistaken notions of God.

God examined him with several questions on Creation the earth, the foundations of it and the ocean (Job 38:4-11); the regulating of nature (Job 38:12-30); the stars and clouds in the heavens (Job 38:31-38); the ways of the animals and birds (38:39-39:30). These are unanswerable questions to affirm His incomprehensibility, sovereignty, and omnipotence.

Job did not understand the workings of Gods physical creation, how could he possibly understand Gods mind and character? What God wanted Job to know was His greatness and how unfathomable He is, Oh the depth of the riches of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable His judgments, and His paths beyond tracing out! Who has known the mind of the Lord? Or who has been His counsellor? Who has ever given to God, that God should repay him? For from Him and through Him and to Him are all things. To Him be the glory forever! Amen (Romans11:33-36)

As we read further, upon Gods revelation; Job was transformed. He affirmed the character of God and his aw of God. (Job 42:1-6),

Prayer: Lord, You reveal Yourself one step at a time at the level we are able to learn and understand. It causes us to be ever dependent upon you. We pause to hear what You are asking us.
