GOD ORCHESTRATED FOR US
Read Job 22 24 Jobs third dialogue with Eliphaz
But He knows the way that I take; When He has tested me, I shall come forth as gold. My foot has held fast to His steps; I have kept His way and not turned aside." (Job 23:10-11 NKJV)
In the second cycle of dialogue, Zophar repeated the retribution of the wicked and their satisfaction short. Job reacted that wicked as well the righteous do prosper and its only death that levels everything. Eliphaz now on his third cycle of dialogue with Job concluded that Job must have committed actual wicked acts.
Job cannot see God, yet God knows all his ways. God is omnipresence and omniscience knowing his heart and life, internal desires and designs, as well as his words and actions. It is a great comfort to us all knowing God sees and knows us.
In response to Eliphaz, Job admitted that though he couldn't perceive God, however, God hath proved him by the afflictions, as gold is tried by the fire. He was positive of the outcome as gold, pure from all dross. God allows suffering to purify his faith, to prove it genuine for His glory. In this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while you may have had to suffer grief in all kinds of trials. These have come so that your faith of greater worth than gold, which perishes even though refined by fire may be proved genuine and may result in praise, glory and honour when Jesus Christ is revealed. (1Pet.1:6-7)
This motivated him to keep God's way steadfastly and treasure His words above all else. Though he may have his own wish but he knew God's plans for him will remain.
He followed the steps God hath appointed him to walk in them without turning aside to any crooked or sinful path. He had not spoken commandments different from, or contrary to what God has given.
With respect to his affliction, notwithstanding his innocence; God is Sovereign and does whatsoever He pleases according to the good pleasure of his will; He is unchangeable in his purposes and decrees; He is not to be wrought upon by any means to alter his fixed course.
Prayer: Lord, I acknowledge times when I am tested and I did not make it. Yet You have enabled me to continue with Your words and cherish the outcome for I saw You have planned for my purification to reflect the image of Your Son.
