NEHEMIAH'S PLANS
Read Nehemiah 2 Nehemiah returns to Jerusalem
Furthermore I said to the king, If it pleases the king, let letters be given to me for the governors of region beyond the River, that they must permit me to pass through till I come to Judah, and a letter to Asaph the keeper of the kings forest, that he must give me timber to make beams for the gates of the citadel which pertains to the temple, for the city wall, and for the house that I will occupy. And the king granted them to me according to the good hand of my God upon me. (Nehemiah 2:7-8 NKJV)
There is a need to have a strategy when we carry out project to bring to completion. God does give His plan; we are to partner with Him to see its fulfilment. Here Nehemiah is the case at point.
Nehemiah serves as the kings cup bearer. It is for such a time as this, a divine appointment for which he has the capacity needed to accomplish Gods plan.
First, he refers to one of authority, the king. There is certainly the trust and personal relationship he has with the king. His countenance couldnt be hidden from the king. He is true to himself. Yet he would not do so presumptuously or with familiarity. He wants to do so at the kings pleasure.
Next, he asks king for permission and authorisation letter for both transit and supply. He needs a proper protocol. The letter is addressed to the governors of Trans-Euphrates for safety of transit. Another letter to Asaph for supply of the timber. Like anyone who seeks to carry up God's agenda there will be cost involved, challenges and obstacles to resolve. His has clear plan and strategy for the project in heart.
The king granted his request. The kings heart is in the hand of the LORD, Like the rivers of water; He turns it wherever He wishes. (Proverbs 21:1) He is able to do it because for the good hand of my God was on him.
Prayer: Father, let me hear from You what I should do over the need of the ministry when You had brought me to be in position of rebuilding it. I acknowledge success is because of the good hand of the Lord.
