GOD'S GLORY
Read I Kings 8 the Ark brought into the Temple
And it came to pass, when the priests came out of the holy place, that the cloud filled the house of the LORD, so that the priests could not continue ministering because of the cloud; for the glory of the LORD filled the house of the LORD. (I Kings 8:10-11)
While Jonathan Edward was preaching people grabbed the poles, pillars around as if they were under heavyweights and conviction of sins. There was such tangible presence of God through his ministry. Another significance of God's presence is recorded in the completion of Solomon's temple.
Solomon brought in all the furnishing. He convened all the leaders of the Israelite tribes and families to witness the transferral of the ark. They assembled before the ark, sacrificing sheep and oxen that could not be counted or numbered for (II Chronicles 5:6). The priests brought the ark to the assigned place and left the Holy Place. "Indeed it came to pass, when the trumpeters and singers were as one, to make one sound to be heard in praising and thanking the LORD, and when they lifted up their voice with the trumpets and cymbals and instruments of music, and praised the LORD, saying: For He is good, For His mercy endures forever, (II Chronicles 5:13) Their worship ushered in the glory of God.
The cloud was the visible symbol of the divine presence, and its occupation of the sanctuary was a testimony of God's gracious acceptance of the temple as of the tabernacle (Exodus 40:34). God showed up because of the obedience of the people. The priests could not carry out their duties because of the Lords glory filled his temple. Gods glory is heavy. The priests were taken in awe. They were so overwhelmed that they could only adore, and watch in submission.
In an analogy we are the earthen vessel and yet the dwelling place of His treasure, His Spirit and His Glory. We take care of preparing ourselves in pursuit of God. He takes care of showing up His glory. As we spontaneously praise; a cloud filled the Lords temple that will impact others.
Prayer: Father God, Your presence is what I desire in my assembling. I long to see Your glory. You are always present whether I am aware and conscious of it. My spirit yearns for Your manifested presence as time of confirmation, direction and victory is needed. Grant me the sense of preparedness in anticipation for You alone than the agenda for my needs
