Read 1 Samuel 20 Jonathan helps David
Now Jonathan again caused David to vow, because he loved him; for he loved him as he loved his own soul. (I Samuel 20:17)

Jonathan left to inform David. Jonathan gave preference and acknowledged God's plan for David to be king of Israel without hesitation. He admitted his father's jealousy and fear.

Prayer: Father God, I thank You for friends You given me. They have sacrificially blessed me. I see Your love through them. Above all Jesus called me His friend that I may be also a friend of those whom You have brought along my path.
