HOW MANY GENERATIONS AFTER?
Read Deuteronomy 7 The Privilege of Holiness
Therefore know that the LORD your God, He is God, the faithful God who keeps covenant and mercy for a thousand generations with those who love Him and keep His commandments; (Deuteronomy 7:9 NKJV)
Life is a simple and joyful one. We can live with and abundantly be filled with blessings! How is it possible? Just know theres only one God. One whom we can have experiential knowledge knowing He is personal to us. Moses makes the stress that God is One and He is unlike all the other gods the heathen worship does relate to His people.
God is faithful means stable like a strong foundation of the building. He is trustworthy. The Israelites had disobeyed many times and went into bondage. They could never succeed in keeping the covenant. Yet God didn't break His part of the covenant. He remains faithful to the covenant He made with His people through Abraham. It was evidenced as He delivered the Israelites out of Egypt and led them through the wilderness. Now the sojourn of the children of Israel who lived in Egypt was four hundred and thirty years. And it came to pass at the end of the four hundred and thirty yearson that very same dayit came to pass that all the armies of the Lord went out from the land of Egypt. (Exodus
God has been faithful to showing His mercy through thousands of generations. He still is towards us all. He initiated the covenant. He chose us unconditionally. He did out of His mercy. His choice was not based on our merits or greatness but His love.
This covenant of blessings however is conditional. The parties will continue to experience His mercy and blessings so long they continue in obedience to His commandments. He has given us His commandments. Keeping it is for our blessings and generations after.
Christ is now the New Covenant by which we continue to receive His mercy by grace. Paul wrote the assurance of complete sanctification, Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify you completely; and may your whole spirit, soul, and body be preserved blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. He who calls you is faithful, who also will do it. (I Thessalonians 5:23-24) Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful. (Hebrews
