Read Leviticus 26 Receiving Gods Blessing

If you walk in My statutes and keep My commandments, and perform them, then I will give you rain in its season, the land shall yield its produce, and the trees of the field shall yield their fruit (Leviticus 26:3-4)

We set rules for our children. With it comes the consequences. They get rewarded when they obey. They get discipline in their disobedience. Otherwise, the rules would not have accomplished any purposes. Here was another set of consequences that follow the obedience or disobedience to it.

God is Holy and so He does expect of His people as set apart to be holy. Hey are to bear witness to those around who their God is. Having given them the laws and theres any expectation of their obedience to the statute to be Holy (Leviticus 20:7-8).

God promises them blessing as the consequences in obeying and cures disobeying it. In the Old Covenant it comes by keeping the law and they were blessed but in disobedience they were cursed..... and if you despise My statutes, or if your soul abhors My judgments, so that you do not perform all My commandments, but break My covenant, I also will do this to you: I will even appoint terror over you, wasting disease and fever which shall consume the eyes and cause sorrow of heart. And you shall sow your seed in vain, for your enemies shall eat it. (:15-16)

Blessings like rain in its season, protection from the enemy, and promise of His presence (Leviticus 26:11-12) While cursing result in destruction and diseases. God did not forsake them but allow curses and desiring their repentance.

Now in Christ we have the New Covenant of grace. Christ bore our curses and we are no longer under any curse. We are disciplined out of Gods love in disobedience and thats blessings for us. For whom the LORD loves He chastens, And scourges every son whom He receives. ... Now no chastening seems to be joyful for the present, but painful; nevertheless, afterward it yields the peaceable fruit of righteousness to those who have been trained by it. (Hebrews 12:6, 11)

Prayer: Father God, You desire to bless us. You are a jealous God and would not have us turn to any idols. You relate to us in Christ not our ability to keep the law. You have initiated Your love for us and empowered us by Your Spirit to obey Your command. Our devotion to You comes from within as we are motivated by Your love.
