JUBILEE
Read Leviticus 25 The Sabbath Year
And you shall consecrate the fiftieth year, and proclaim liberty throughout all the land to all its inhabitants. It shall be a Jubilee for you; and each of you shall return to his possession, and each of you shall return to his family. (Leviticus 25:10)
2015 was a special year for our nation, Singapore. It was the 50th year of our independence. We celebrated as a church. We paused and gave thanks to God for our nation. We desired that our success can also be significance. I completed the project of writing a 40-Day Inspirational Journal for the church to use as group discussion and outreach to pre-believers. It was this year of my retirement from my active pastorate.
The Jews celebrates Jubilee once in every 50th year on 10th day of the Seventh Month, right after the day of atonement. Its a year of rejoicing as there is no work to be done for a year. It is in anticipation for blessing as the people are free to enjoy the fruit trees in the neighbourhood.
It is a year of release where liberty is proclaimed for those in slavery and all debts are settled.
it's a year of restitution and restoration of whatever lost shall return to his possession as the lands returned to its owner
Its a year of reunion and even relationship of family as they return to their respective families. A reminder of He is in charge and own everything.
Christ is our Jubilee. The Spirit of the LORD is upon Me, Because He has anointed Me To preach the gospel to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the broken-hearted, To proclaim liberty to the captives And recovery of sight to the blind, To set at liberty those who are oppressed; To proclaim the acceptable year of the LORD. (Luke 4:18-19) Through Christ God has restored all things to us pertaining to Godliness what the enemy has stolen.
Prayer: Father God, You are send Christ to be my Jubilee. Lord Jesus, You have redeemed me and set me free from the bondage of sin, the power of the evil ones and I am no longer slave to the devil. You have restored me in the relationship with the Father and send me Your Holy Spirit. Thank You Holy Spirit for the joy and rest as I exercise the liberty I have in Christ.
