Read Leviticus 18-20 Standards for the people

Consecrate yourselves therefore, and be holy, for I am the LORD your God. And you shall keep My statutes, and perform them: I am the LORD who sanctifies you. (Leviticus 20:7-8)

What we want to become involves preparation and setting ourselves apart to training of it. It is the same whether be for military, sport, career and marriage. When I received the call to the ministry, I have to set myself apart and live to my calling. I left what I wanted to pursue.

First, there is the separation. It begins with consecration. Israel has to keep themselves separated and apart from the practises of other pagan nations around them if they were to take and keep the possession of the land God promised them. But I have said to you, You shall inherit their land, and I will give it to you to possess, a land flowing with milk and honey. I am the LORD your God, who has separated you from the peoples. (Leviticus 20:24) They are to reflect their calling as a holy nation and consecrated to God

Second, is the statue. It is keeping the commandments of God. Various laws were provided pertaining to food, child birth, skin infections, bodily discharge and purity of relationship. They were commanded to keep and obey the regulations and laws to live holy before God. How can a youg man cleanse his way? By taking heed according to Your word. (Psalms 119:9) Jesus prayed for His disciples, Sanctify them by Your truth. Your word is truth. (John 17:17)

Then comes the sanctification. Every true believer desires this outcome. It's the ground of our fellowship and joy of communion with God and others. Sanctification involves both Gods acts and our response. They need to acknowledge and know that its God who sanctifies. The Triune God is involved in our sanctification. This God's work of grace is progressive transformation of our lives to the likeness of His Son, Jesus. Moreover, whom He predestined, these He also called; whom He called, these He also justified; and whom He justified, these He also glorified. (Romans 8:30)

Prayer: Father God, You are Holy and You desire me to be holy. As You have set me set apart for Yourself. Through Your Spirit empowerment and the revelation of who You are through Christ, I am being changed progressively into Your likeness. Your word as my Guide shall keep me pure. While living in obedience; I am sanctified.
