IN THE BEGINNING
Read Genesis 1 The Account of Creation
In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. (Genesis 1:1)
How did the rabbit appeared out of the hat when it was shown to be empty? It did not come out of nothing. It was hidden but not created.
Right from eternal past, in the beginning, God already is. He is the pre-existent One before everything. He is the beginning.
God, in the Hebrew Elohim a uni-plural noun, like a class yet with more than one student. It refers to the triune God who was involved in creation. The God in three persons, the Father, Son and the Holy Spirit. Three distinct personalities yet one Godhead equal in essence and status with different roles. God, the Father spoke the word, Christ is the Word who created it and God, the Spirit brood over it into form.
God is the Creator, In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God...All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made. (John 1:1, 3) For by Him all things were created, both in the heavens and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities--all things have been created through Him and for Him. (Colossians 1:16) The heavens declare the glory of God; And the firmament shows His handiwork. (Psalm 19:1) The earth is the LORD'S, and all it contains, The world, and those who dwell in it. (Psalm 24:1). Let us bow in humble adoration, "You alone are the LORD You have made the heavens, The heaven of heavens with all their host, The earth and all that is on it, The seas and all that is in them You give life to all of them And the heavenly host bows down before You. (Nehemiah 9:6).
How shall we relate to God as this is the beginning of the new year? Let us live with the assurance the Creator God is with us, Ah, Lord GOD! Behold, You have made the heavens and the earth by Your great power and outstretched arm. The is nothing too hard for You." (Jeremiah 32:17)
Prayer: Father God, each morning as I arise and the sun shines, the things around stir within me a heart of worship affirming nothing is impossible for You. Jesus, You have created all things for Your pleasure. Having You I have all that I needed. Thank You Holy Spirit for empowering me to enjoy and receiving them by faith in Christ Jesus. Amen.
