INTRODUCTION

Crete culture was corrupt. Likewise, the leaders in the church were much influenced by the culture of the city bringing chaos to the church.

Chapter 1 Christian Leadership

:1-4 Introduction of his message of hope of eternal life. Promised by God who never lies. It is in contrast to the culture which pride in deception.

:5-16 Pauls two tasks for Titus. He begins with Christian leadership appointing of Elders (1:6-9) which emphasis on character in contrast to Cretes culture. Next to confront false teachers for money who demanded the believers to follow Jewish law of circumcision (1:10-16).

Chapter 2 Christian Living

He proceeds to what a new household for believer ought to be with what Jesus had done for them and their blessed hope rather than a list of do and don't. The groups he mentioned are: Older Men (2:2) Older Women (2:3-5) Young Men (2:6) Example of Titus (2:7-16) It is Gods generous grace that drives believers to live godliness.

Chapter 3 Community Living

Final section he wrote on society living. Christians should be ideal citizens. Submitting to authority and living righteously in pursuing the common good. Power of transformation is the kidness of God save us, through the Holy Spirit renewal and Jesus declaration of eternal life of us as new creation. Spirit empowered faithfulness to Jesus would declare Gods grace. It is not wagging a cultural war but follow whats good.
