Read II Timothy 3 Pauls charge to Timothy in difficult time

All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work. (II Timothy 3:16-17 NKJV)

The preciousness of the object depends its origin. We cherish certain peace of art because of the painter behind it. How much more the preciousness of the Scripture whose writers were inspired by God, the Holy Spirit. Through the years men have sought to destroy it yet its the most possessed and read book in the world.

Its Gods inspired. His Spirit directed men who were chosen to be His channels to convey His messages In written form. The origin is thus attributed to God. He who inspired its message will also reveal to us

Its Gods truth with five objectives as follow: first for doctrine, a systematically classified for our beliefs and living. It benefits and edifies the hearers. Theres depth in every truth from its first mention to the last. Its sufficient for godliness.

The word brings reproof to one who goes astray. For the Holy Spirit is righteous. One comes under conviction or is confronted through hearing or reading the word. Its our yardsticks to discipline and not personal opinions and standards for judging others. People need not take personally as another is against him but a standard and word that come from God.

It is for correction; it guides and redirects us to what's right. The Holy Spirit does it in gentle and loving yet firmly as Father would to his child through His word.

For instruction in righteousness, to live out His character. Christ is the incarnated word and we see Him through the word. We live Him as our model even as we use to instruct others.

When we have the word lived out. We grow and mature progressively with the knowledge of the word. All other teachings and resources are secondary and the word itself is sufficient if meditated and applied to make us blameless and complete.

Those who serve are thoroughly equipped for every good work. It provides Godly principles, motivation and attitude of serving making us acceptable to God. The outcome of our response to the word will result in our effectiveness in serving Him.

The word is thus the best guide for our counselling and ministry. Ask God for His words. The Holy Spirit who inspired it will surface that these are what God would have said and done. Our role is to convey with confidence.

Prayer: Lord You have given me Your Word. Its the most important and significant message to my life. I believe Your Word as my foundation of faith, Holy Spirit You are welcome to convict me through the Word You inspired for my collection when I am astray. I receive Your instruction to live righteously and be equipped to fulfil the good work You have prepared for me.
