Read II Corinthians 6 Living Holy
I will be a Father to you, And you shall be My sons and daughters, Says the Lord Almighty. (II Corinthians
Paul begins as a co-worker with Jesus Christ. It isnt his work that God helps him but Gods work and seeing the privilege of together with Him. It is grace as he sees the Lords leading and dealing thus enabling him to be more laborious. So that he would not receive the grace in vain meaning to receive the goodness and favour of God, yet to hinder the work of grace in ones life. On this basis of grace, he pleaded they too been called the children of God are to live separate from the world.
They are not be unequally yoked together with unbelievers, example marrying an unbeliever, He elaborates the inconsistency as there can be no fellowship of righteousness with lawlessness, light with darkness. They were condoning sin, accepting of them to allow lawlessness with righteousness, to accept darkness along with the light, and to admit Belial (worthless) along with Christ, agreement of Gods temple with idols. (II Corinthians
By so doing, God has promised of His dwelling, and the relationship as Father and children. Paul wants us to understand that it is the sovereign God of heaven who offers us adoption as His children as we separate unto Him. The Spirit bears witness we are the children of God. This witness of adoption is evidenced in our lives as we are led by Him putting to death the deeds of the flesh (Romans 8:12-17),
Prayer: Lord, You long to dwell within me and relate to me as Father and children. Such intimacy is experience as I stay guard of the influence and thinking that would come from the world. More so that I would not have any fellowship with darkness that will defile the church as well as myself.
